Help, any ideas Acura owners. 1998 acura integra GSR ,


The RPMgoes up from 800 to 2000 then drops down then repeats the same symptom over and over again at idle.

have you replace the idle control valve and als check for vac leaks!

 

with the car running, unplug your idle air control valve. did it change the way the engine is idling? if not the IACV is bad. If it runs different then you have a leak in your intake system. the most likely culprit is the gasket that connects your throttle body to the engine. with the IACV plugged back in and the car still running spray a little FLAMABLE brake cleaner or starter fluid around your throttle body checking diffrent spots with little squirts. when the engine revs up a little, you've found the leak.
