I have a 2005 rxs type s and the ck engine came on. My code reader is saying that there is a misfire in # 1 plug. I removed the plug and it looks ok. HOW DO YOU CHECK THE COIL TO SEE IF ITS 100%

Is this not still under warranty? Take it to the dealer!

coil on plug ignition systems are fun to shoot.

here is a trick

swap it with number 4 and see if you get a code p0304 instead of p0301

if it moves the bam bad coil if not time to look at that injector

the same test could be done with injectors take the suspect 1 and swap it with a known good 1 aka #4

wow old post oh well hope it helps anyway.
