Help! radio tuner problem

My battery went dead and when i tried to enter the radio code but my tuner would not show the numbers to input the code. Took it to the dealership and they quoted me $5800 for new navi/radio. Any body had this problem?

You didn't specify model/year/w/wo-navi, however all 2004 TSX's are subject to a recently released warranty extension regarding the audio-HVAC display being dark or dim.

SB# 04-021 dated February 5th 2008. The same applies to some Accord models with the HVAC integrated into the audio display.

After disconnecting my battery I also had the radio lock up. I got a working radio code here:
