Hi, I am brand new here, and considering purchasing a '96 2.5TL. I am getting rid of a problem-ridden Chevy Blazer, and found this deal online. Like I said, it's a '96 2.5TL with 120K miles. the dealer only wants $3999 for it.

Can anyone give my any tips of things to look for when I go check it out tomorrow? Does this sound like a good deal? Are these good cars, on par with their Honda cousins in reliability?

Thanks in advance so much!

Tim,

I have a '96 3.2 TL and it has been a great car. I currently have an O2 sensor problem and the only </span>other problem this car has had has been a flaky alarm actuator. As far as things to look out for, besides the usual like the condition of the tires, etc., is to make sure that the timing belt has been changed. I think the maintenance interval on it is something like 90K miles, and if it breaks the results are catastrophic (well, maybe not that bad, but you will end up with a handful of bent valves.).

awesome, thanks. i'm pretty excited to take a look at it. does $3999 seem a little low in price though. like i said, it's a 96 2.5 with 117k miles. i'm just afraid it's too good to be true.
