Hello everyone,

I hope yall can help me as I am at a loss here.

We are the original owners of a 99 TL with 280,000 miles. It has been a great car and we need it to last a little while longer.

The issue is that the car stalls, or dies, while driving. This happened about a year ago and I replaced the ignition switch; which corrected the problem. It has started happening again and this time replacing the ignition switch didn't fix it. There are no codes showing on the computer and when the car dies..... it just turns off. The lights on the dash look right, it acts like I turned off the engine. Sometimes I can restart it immediately and sometimes it can take an hour before it will restart. The starter engages and the motor turns over, but it wont start. I have thought that it could be the key reader, but I don't think that would cause the engine to die while driving.

I have searched the net a lot for an answer and the only things that show up are the starter switch and issues related to the fuel pump circuitry. It seems that if the fuel pump cut out while driving there would be a code.

Thank you for your consideration,

Mike
