2006 TL electrical problem
Recently my TL has developed an issue that I assume is associated with a switch in the automatic shifter mechanism. When the ignition switch is first turned on all dash lights and gages are lit and operable, but as soon as I try to engage the starter all power is lost (everything goes dark). This has happened twice.
If I turn the ignition off and wiggle the shifter sideways in the gate for park position, then turn the ignition back on, battery power is restored and the car will start.
Has anyone else had this problem? What is the cause and solution?
Thanks

I had problem but not same as yours.
I solved my high-mount brake light problem, The solution was to replace the brake light switch, which is located on the brake pedal.
The switch was less than $7.00.
It was very easy to install.
