Default 2002 TL Armrest problem

Hello, I have two questions - 1. In the armrest of the 02/03 models, the ashtray/window switch sits inside a molded armrest. Along the length the molded armrest is separating from the gray plastic piece, creating a gap. I have gone to salvage yards and this seems to be a common issue. Has anyone found a fix for this? I have tried glue (epoxy and others) to reattach to the plastic frame inside the armrest, but this does not seems to work at all.

2. My car is a type-S and has the perforated seats. When at a salvage yard, they told me I had the standard interior because my leather inserts on the door panels are NOT perforated. I know the car is a type-S as I am the original owner, but is it possible this was an early 2002 build? Or did the 02s not have the perforated door inserts?

Thanks,

I found my answer to the armrest issue on another forum. Still curious about my door panels though
