230 whp without turbo, in a baseRSX,would cost you around... the same amount, if not more than a turbo. If you had intake/header/exhaust/ecu/cams & valvetrain along with a stroke/bore to 2.2liter w/new pistons, con rods, & crankshaft... You might get 230-250 whp.
That's about $5,000-$8,000 worth of parts. Not including labor.
My suggestion- k24swap (tsx/accord engine) $3000-$5000
it wont put you at 230 whp since you want the automatic version. But with the 2.4 liter engine your performance gains will be much greater. If you had the k24 with intake/header/exhaust/ecu you'd definately be making over 230 whp.
or you could just buy a 100-shot of nitrous. $700
But nitrous is dangerous!
P.S. - A "blow off valve" is part of a turbo kit.Edited by: RSXcess201

You can do plenty w/ 2k. but you need a direction. If you Acheive the horsepower you want, what will you do with it? Drag it? take it to a circuit type track? I ask because the performance you want might be achived by suspension and drive train mods.

im not really into racing or anything...
i jus want to have confidence in my car
i want it to be able to maneuvar tight corners and accelerate at a faster rate than the average car.
i live in boston. we need to fight our way through traffic.
i also take trips to Fort meade andthat is 415 miles on the highway... i wanna do that as fast as possible while conserving gas,,,

Cool, now I understand. I've never driven a RSX automatic. I'll test drive one this weekend so I can get a feel for the car. I'm thinkin since you live it a metro area that your car needs to pass emissions testing? Major engine upgrades can make passing that test harder. To make the car more nimble and steadythere is always room for improvementon suspension and steering. The type s and r versions of your carhave different/better suspension setups. Also, aftermarketrimsnot only look cool but can be alot lighter which equals less rotating mass.Same with the pulleys in your engine.Let me drive the car and I'll get back to youSat. evening
