hey everyone,

i have an 05 rsx type-s and i'm curious as to know if anyone ever notices some gear grinding going on when shifting from 2nd to 3rd in their type-s. for some reason, 3rd gear is the hardest gear to shift into. anyone have any suggestions or any idea of what that might be?

3rd gear suffers first when oil level is low

it also has a very small syncro (the thing that sping the gear to match vehicle speed) and they do go bad

im betting if a oil service doesnt fix it then your looking to need a replacement tranz or having yours rebuilt.

I have an 06 type-s and I've had the same problems. I took mine to the dealership and they serviced the transmission but its having trouble again. A salesman told me when I bought the car that they were having to replace the syncros in SOME of the type-s' because of this very problem. So, if you got the car from a dealership, you may go ask them if anything can be done.
