I'm thinking about buying a 2005 RL that has 128k on it. Owner is asking $14,500.

Is this a good price, assuming the car checks out OK.

What should I check for?

 

I would not make a move on that car unless it was shown to me that all maintenence work was done on that car exactly as Acura dictates it shoulb be done...

Can an Acura dealer lookup maint records with VIN?

 

It'd probably cost money. I went ahead and got a carfax account. It's expensive ($44) but considering what it could be saving you. I'm looking at one too. I'm actually going to lob a call to the last dealership that inspected and did maintenance on it to make sure they didn't find anything suspect. Since the dealership is different from where I may be buying it, they should give an unbiased report. Let's hope anyway...
