Jumpstart issues!

I left the interior dome lights on and my car died.I have a duralast jumpstarter and when I tried to jump the car,as soon as I connected the negative cable to the battery post the damn panic alarm comes on! my two questions are,Why is the panic alarm coming on andshould I ground the negative cable on the frame? SOMEBODY HELP! The car is a 2000 3.5 rl 4 door premium without navi.Edited by: antoinewilson22

When jumpstarting a car, you should always ground to the frame on the car with the dead battery. It is a safely issue.
