What to look for when buying a turbo?

Well, the title says it all.
This would be for the Canadian CSX.
Engine:
2.0L L4 DOHC 16-valve
It puts out 155 hp at 6000rpm and 145 lb.ft of torque at 4500rpm.
I really have no idea what to look for or where to look for. I'd say I would probably need something that would work for a '07 Civic too, unless the inside is completely different...
But from general experience, is it good for your car to add a turbo?
From what I've read, something small would do it for me as i just want to have the OOOMMPH factor inside 0-40~60 mph as I am not planning to drive like some crazed rocket-fool. Basically I just want to have the extra power if I need to pass someone right after the green light...
The only thing I'm not too sure is how much extra strain will this put on the engine and how well will it take it (considering the fact that I might resell the car in a few of years).
