My Mechanic put 5w30 oil into my 2003 TL S type
Hello there, I've owned this old Acura for a few months and it's been running well.
I got the oil changed today and told my mechanic I thought it took 5w20, but he said he was sure it took 5w30.
He's been very reliable over the years and always been super-honest with me I just took him at his word.
But I double-checked the manual when I got home, and sure enough, it was supposed to take the 5w20.
Dang.
Maybe 5w30 would actually be better in the Summer, but we're coming up on Winter.
Then again I do live in sunny LA where it gets up into the 60s or 70s most days even this time of year.
So I'm hoping the 5w30 won't hurt anything.
I was thinking about putting a little Marvel Mystery Oil in there, perhaps that would help thin it a bit.
What do y'all think, should I change it again right away or just run it for another 3000 miles?
It's got high mileage: about 193,000
Thank you...

I would change it with this:
https://www.searchforparts.com/oil-c...2tl-3.2l-j32a1
and get their filter too! I used this for my vehicle which had oil consumption issues and it stopped from using that oil. I looked up your vehicle, that link should do it.
wouldn't mess with thinning it out with additional additives.
