Need engine for airplane
I need engine weights ( aircraft need light weight )
on 4 cylinder , DOHC Tigers .
First glance ... Tiger engine could work well in plane .
But only DOHC , then a DIY TURBO .
What a RIP OFF , $1000 for a TURBO , you could do
better making it yourself !
They are dual flow , radial then axial flow ( compressor).
Thats a complication . Obviously axial is
far too expensive , use radial ( col = centrifugal ) .
Ball bearings in a Turbo are an expensive "feature" ,
a very high maintaince item .
But a DIY turbo can use a much larger diam wheel ,
and thus ball bearings .
Large diameter slows spoolup . BAD ...
Aircraft engines are constant speed , no problem .
BTW engine builders always over boost PSI to engine .
Its for this or that engine limit , rule , regulations ..
But street racing needs large ,light weightengine , with
low boost . The result is more HP to the wheels .
Next , with DOHC , you can control both ends of power ,
RACE or ECONOMY .
a DIY hydraulic advance/retard on the intake cam ,,
lowers the effective C.R. to max the fuel economy .

None of the avail V6 had DOHC .
Still cant figure which Acura engines are aluminum block .

For airplanes , DOHC is essential , to tune intake cam dynamically
with a tiny hydraulic rotary actuator hooked on end of cam .
Im now interested in H and F22,F23 DOHC engines .
But i lack knowledge of which were iron block .
I really need the all aluminum blocks .

ive got the 305 engine in my RS. its got 111,000 on it. but runs great, i just got whole suspension re-done. i want more out of my engine though.. what can i do to get some added Hp?
