I've started using the synthetic blends in my Legend and streeeeetch the changes out to 10000 miles. I commute around 2500 miles every month, so even then i must change every four months.Just because the oil is dark does not mean it is worn out; the oil just has oxidation components suspended in it, which is where you want them. Us quality filters such asAcura orWix. If you have deep pockets, go for a full synthetic fomula.

hey thanks man.. i was considering/heard of semi synthetic oils... i heard all the dealerships that do changes use that... any company you might recommend for 5w30?

also, i just bought a fram sure grip oil filter... that will be fine no matter what oil i put through it right?

thanks again..

I WORK AT A HONDA DEALERSHIP IF I WHERE U I WOULD USE HONDA GENUINE-MADE BY MOBILE. ITS ONE OF THE BETTER COMPANIES OUT THERE. STAY AWAY FROM QUAKERSTATE.

MOBILE1 IS THE BEST BET. HONDA FILTERS TOO. HIGH MILEAGE CARS SHOULD NOT USE FULL SYNTHETIC. KEEP THE INTERVALS FOR THE FILTER BELOW 5K WITH FULL SYNTHETICS. DARK OIL IS USUALLY BAD OIL AND IT DOES NOT HELP THE MOTOR BEING THERE.

I use full synthetic and have had no problems at all. Just my 2 cents.
