<DIV nd="9">I have a 1998 acura cl 3.0, I am experiencing a problem, when I press gas the odometer gauge goes up but car don't move.

I had same issue about 4 months ago and was told that "MAP SENSOR" was bad, replaced it (put used one in), that seemed to fix the problem, but I got the same issue again.

Any commensts / suggestions?
What exactally is "MAP SENSOR" and what is it used for, any help will be greatly appreciated.</DIV>

Better explain the symptom, does the engine rev up and just stay in place, or does it just run so crappy that it can barely accelerate?

Also, a MAP sensor is short for a Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor, in other words, it is a sensor that tells you the pressure inside of your intake manifold, and based on the inputs of that sensor and the barometric pressure sensor, and coolant temp sensor, the vehicle can then add or subtract fuel as necessary to ensure it is getting a good air/fuel ratio...thats a VERY basic summary, but thats what it is.
