stock clutch
#1
OK, I just bought an Acura TSX 2004 last Friday night and I LOVE this vehicle. Handles like a dream and drives SOOOO smoothly. Plus, I love the higher rpm power of the vtech. However, there might be a slight problem.
I've tried redlining the vehicle a few times in an effort to get used to the clutch and shifter which is completely different from my Fox body Mustang GT. Twice, this has happened to me and I don't understand what's going on:
When I rap first gear all the way out to 7,000 rpms and powershift into 2nd, the car bogs and doesn't go anywhere for a few seconds. It's as if the car goes into neutral or something.
Now, the clutch feels tight when I'm driving normal, but when I power shift into 2nd the car thuds, then bogs, then has to wait to pick speed back up. Is the stock clutch not a very good one in these TSX's or is there some sort of traction control that I need to turn off or something?

7k on the tack. i wonder if your just hitting the edge of the rev limiter.
does it do it at 6500?
ok a 7k shift into second, what does that tack do?
a performance loss would not be caused by the clutch. maybe a RPM flair or maybe a gradual loss of rpm.
7k in first should put you around 4k in second.
are you getting that?
i would suspect fuel loss at 7k and the engine starves a sec as it trys
to recover (fuel filter time) may want to consider a fuel
pressure/volume test.
7k rpm also draws a ton of power from you batt.
is it up to par???
hope i hit something to help you.

I'm pretty sure it's related to the traction control. Could be wrong though. You guys are the experts on this vehicle, not me. I drove a Mustang for the last two years, and still do on the weekends when I want some speed baby! Edited by: ike83
