Every time I get out of my TSX, I get shocked by static electricity when I touch the door to close it. It never fails... Does this happen to anybody else?

Edit:
Okay, I found a solution if anybody has this problem:

Solution:
Touch the metal frame of the door for a couple of seconds before you let your feet touch the ground. To balance the static charge, you need to touch metal as you slide out. This helps the static electricity slowly leave your body through your hand, so it doesn't build up high enough to shock you.Edited by: miked8887

This used to happen to me quite a bit too. Here's what I do:

Close the door with your elbow. There are very few nerve endings there, so the electricity will still discharge, but you won't feel anything. I think it might be a bit more convenient than touching the door frame for a few seconds and keeping contact with the metal as you step out of the car.

yea, touching the door frame while stepping out of the car is a hassle... it makes me look like I have trouble getting out of my car... like I have to hang on or something. That's what people must think. This girl was watching me get out of my car the other night, and I looked like a retard. I might as well have tripped over the curb too and said 'errrfgnlaa.'
