acuralegend: Can you tell me more about your post on acura's automatic transmissions and filters? I just bought a '07 TL Type S and I want to make sure this thing lasts. Do you guys do the 15,000 maintenance check-ups with the dealer? I've had some rough luck with cars and I want this thing to last. Some taxi even dinged my new Type S 10 hours after I bought it....2 days later someone smashed my window out! Hopefully the worst is over.





The biggest problem with Honda / Acura automatic transmissions is that there is no filter in them. so the junk that formes because oils break down. stays in there and harms stuff.

30bucks buys anyones inline magnetic filter and that alone will tripple the life of that tranz.
