Hi folks,

My 2002 3.2TL has about 118k. In the last 2-3 wks, it has sounded as if it has sprung an exhaust leak--very loud.

However, it is only loud in D, and only over 20MPH. In P, up to 7k rpm, it is quiet as a lamb.

Also, mileage has dropped by 10% or more over the same time frame. It does not appear to be running hot. I haven't checked, but I suppose there could be a squirrel in the intake or something. It's obv. running rich. There is detectable vibration at the gas pedal and under the drivers seat.

I expect to take it to the dealer this week, just wondering what to expect.

I've heard a variety of diagnoses, from intake muffler leak to rattling drive train.

Thoughts?
