My 2001 TL's tranny I think is going out. When accelerating, sometimes it slips in one of the lower gears. Seems worse when car is cold, it has 132,000 miles on it. I did some research and apparently tranny issues were common in this year model TL. Any idea what it would cost to have the tranny rebuilt? I noticed on kelly blue book the car is only worth around $3500 at the most. Sad thing is the car is in mint condition, exterior/interior is mint, motor runs great, original brakes, etc. I got a feeling a rebuild may cost as much as the car is even worth.

 

WOW, this place is as active as cemeteries on a Tuesday night! Well the dealer stepped up and paid for most of a new tranny, so I'm happy with that.
