Default HID Conversion

Hi All,

I'm new to the forum and would like to say that I have come across alot of interesting topics covered here.

I have a question I would like to ask the member. I have a 2002 3.2TL and was wondering if it was a easy process to replace the OEM HID lights with a Slim Line HID aftermarket system? Could I use the existing relays to handle flicker and just splice the connections for the new Slim Line balast that I would install in the same position as the OEM balast onto the existing wires. Is this recommended or not. I find that the OEM balast are just too expensive @ $350.00 each from Acura.

Hope to hear from someone soon as I have to repair one of my non functioning balast.

Default HID Conversion

Thanks for all the viewers of my post but I have figured it out myself. All I need to get is a D2R/D2S HID conversion kit or buy the connector from the Ballast to the bulb seperately for around $50 bucks. I can use my existing OEM wiring harness in the car already.

I do have another question though. Does anyone know the type of connector that plugs into the ballast? I would like to get the mating connector if at all possible so I don't have to butcher my OEM wiring. I would much rather create wiring adapters of my own so that everything can be returned to its original state if necessary in the future.

If you are nervous about installing it,it is easy and you don’t even need directions. Just take it all out of the box and start plugging it in and you will see each plug only goes in one way so no mistakes are possible.

Yes,you can use the existing relays to handle flicker and just splice the connections for the new Slim Line balast that you can install in the same position as the OEM balast onto the existing wires.Good luck!
