Acura TL extended warranty needed?

Hi,
I recently got 2003 Acura 3.2 TL 40K mileage.
The dealer sold me extended warranty for $1000 (7yr/ 100K mileage).
Just wondering, is extended warranty required in first place?
Also can some one tell me whether the price I paid is the right price?

That is a good price, if it really covers the powertrain and all moving parts. There are thousands of warranties available, some are better than others.

There are a few winners and a whole lot of losers in the warranty business..
do your research... I read up on what to look for at
Warranties Gone Wild.

I checked out this site and there was alot of good info, but they didn't reccommend any specific company. Does anyone know if CarChex, AA Auto Warranty, or Warranty Direct is good for Acura?
