Hey guys im looking into buy a 3.2TL sometime soon, prob an 03 or earlier with lower miles (maybe 70k average). and i hear that the car can have some problems. Some minor tranny issues and such. I was wondering if you guys could post some of the more common reoccuring problems so i know whether or not this will be a good choice for a reliable college car. Thanks

I have heard that the tranny is a weak link. However I have an '04 TL (and a '96 TL) and have had no problems with this car at all. Period. For full disclosure - this car does not get heavy usage - current mileage is 20K.

 

the issue with the Acura automatic transmissions is the maintence on them tends to be poor. and that will lead to problems.

If your looking into a used car look for Proof of maintence on it's transmission.
