I have a 2006 TL ( 6 speed manual) with 24,000 miles and are experiencing a noise from the right side of the engine once it has been warmed up. The dealer has confirmed the noise and replaced pulleys and the belt tensioner, however, the noise still exists. I have also replaced the drive belt with no luck. The noise only occurs at idle after the engine has been running for about 20 - 30 minutes. The dealer has acknowledged that the noise does exist in some TL's, however, has not suggested a fix. Has anyone been down this road?

I appreciate any assistance I can get.

Thx,

*Gary

I've got the same problem. 2006 TL, automatic, 26600 miles. The noise started around 3000 miles ago and, similar to you, only after the engine warms up awhile. I plan on brining it into the dealer next month when I'm due for an oil change.

I thought it was the pulley also....let's see if they acknowledge the noise and what they do.

The car is in the dealer today. They are planning on changing the water pump. I'll let you know the outcome.

You know, it can very well be the water pump. Thanks. Keep me posted.

Car is still with the dealer. Apparently there is a service bulletin coming out for this problem. Dealer had a heads up from Acura and is ordering more parts. Will not replace the water pump. I'll keep you posted.

Glad to hear that the car stopped making noise. I'm in NY (White Plains), so any further information you have on what they did would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Man why are you using a belt with no lock! Do you know that one of the leading causes of death and injury are car accidents. Seatbelts are one of the most common safety equipments inside your car. My Acura Legend Belts is premium and high modulus glass fiber non-stretch cord delivers precise length stability to keep the engine running smoothly.
