We bought our 5th Acura in September, a 2004 TL. This car has Yakima, the rack company stumped. They aren't currently making, nor do they plan to make, clips for mounting a roof rack to the car. What are you other owners of the new style TL doing for hauling bikes or canoes, kayaks etc? Is the trunk mount rack the only option? Yakima makes a permanent rail set that is screwed to the roof then a rack clips to that but I'm unwilling to to drill 16 holes in my TL's roof. I race bicycles, singles and tandems and getting to races is going to be tough this year. Any ideas?

 

Does thule make a roof rack? That might work, or searching eBay/google. Or how about not using a luxury car to move bikes? ha just kidding.

 

My folks installed a thule that attaches to the trailer hitch, I would go that route.

 

No but hole is to be done otherwise how is it possible..but if you want some other way just ask dealor for it..he will suggest you the right way...and will show you the right direction
