i have a 2000 acura TL, just did a tuneup, changed timing belt & got new cat converter a few mos ago. since then the car has felt shakey while sitting in park and the gas mileage is horrible. on my last full tank of premium i got 200 miles off it as opposed to my usual 350-400 miles per full tank.
can anyone point me in the right direction as what to check 1st. i was going to start with a fuel injector cleaner & pull the plugs to see if they are gunky or not gapped correctly.

To see if your Acura TL have a big fuel consumtion here you can compare gas fuel consumption that you have now with what is written in the Acur TL book (manual).

As you are checking your plugs, make sure that the power feed to the coil packs are secure and that the coil packs aren't cracked/damaged and they are properly connected to the plugs.

I also have a 2000 TL and the most I get around town is 200 to a tank. I get around 300+ on the highway.

 

....if a line is cracked or disconnected, you'll get rough idle and poor running. There are simple tests for this so it should be your first line of investigation. Sorry the note is so late.

The Acura 2000 TL is the sexiest car I had driven till date.

 

The bad fuel consumption on your Acura TL may be caused by the, spark plugs and wire, coil, old filters etc.
