I have a 2004 1.7 EL with a stock stero system.


I took it in to have a little body work done (rear right fender, left front bumper) and when I got it back the stereo wasn't working.


Here's the weird part -- the stereo looks fine: turns on and off, the display lights up, turning up the volume and the little graphic shows a volume increase.


BUT... thre's no sound whatsoever. Not even static hiss. It's basically as if my speakers have been totally disconnected.


It would seem to make sense that the bodywork guys had something to do with it: maybe a wire got cut, or maybe someone screwed with my stereo settings or blew out my speakers listening to Iron Maiden or something.


The body shop guys are well-respected and swear they have no clue what's up. So maybe it's just a weird coincidence?
