Check out these two links. They should give you a good idea of the standard features of the two models.

HI - THE TYPE-S HAS VTEC ON BOTH CAMS, A LARGER EXHAUST AND A 6-SPEED TRANNY. LOTS OF COSMETIC DIFFERENCES TOO. TYPE-S IS THE WAY TO GO FOR PERFORMANCE.

i've got a 03 type s and it's nice. The seats are really NICE and the bose system is straight....the handling is outrageously beautiful. I love the body style aswell.

Cosmetic differences:
16" base vs 17" wheels on Type-S
Type-S has the low profile spoiler, base has no spoiler or a raised wing
Type-S exhaust is significantly bigger
Cloth interiors only available in base
Bose sound only available in Type-S

Engine and transmission are completely different. Base is more fuel efficient (3mpg highway better?). Doing 60mph in 5th gear my friend's '02 RSX does ~2500rpm, my '06 Type-S does 3000 in 6th gear. Mine has a whole lot more power though. :P
