Default 04 RSX Base questions about moding

i got the car used in 08 and ended up parking it for a year, now that im back from the air force im looking to do some upgrades to it.
i did some research between teh base and the type S and at this point im wondering; is it even worth moding a base, or should i just leave it be and at some point trade or sell it and get a type S?

for upgrades im looking at about ~2000$ i was thinking of a new exhaust a cold air intake and perhaps a new chip(prob a hondata)

any help would be much appreciated

Default mod the rsx.

sure. if its a five speed. The first thing I would do is get a catback exhaust system with a high flow cat-converter.
