Question: Does anyone know if you can install an OEM reverse camera and still be able to use/keep the trunk latch?

My 2006 RL doesn't have a reverse camera and I was thinking of putting one in but only want an OEM camera. I've called a few dealers about my question but only one out of state dealer took the time to try and check it out. My trunk lid currently has a latch that I pull toward me to open the trunk. The dealer told me that if I get the OEM camera, according to the manual he was looking at, I lose the latch and get a button instead but he didn't want to confirm that as he didn't think the latch needed replaced, an opinion which I appreciated as I rather like the latch and feel that if I were the get the button, (I've seen it on others, looks like a small square about the size of a Chiclet.), I don't think I'd like the button and prefer the longer latch that I currently have. Or am I just screwed and subject to aftermarket?
