Intercooler Cleaning

Intercooler Cleaning
First, I'll preface this by apologizing for my noob-ness. I've had older cars until now ('83 Benz was my daily driver until I got the '07 RDX). I know how to work on them. They're not complicated and there are, thankfully, plenty of DIY resources available. Especially for the Benz.
I can't find too many on Acuras, though - so maybe I'm not looking in the right places?
Either way - I popped the hood and took a closer inspection of the contents, to familiarize myself with the basics. I noticed what looks like a bank of fins atop the intercooler. In those fins are specks of kamikaze insects and leaves. While it's not enough, as far as I can tell, to inhibit normal performance... I'd like to know how to properly clean it should the need arise. I'm assuming something gentle and simple like removing it and blowing it out with compressed air, but I don't want to risk screwing anything up. Advice? Pictures?
