Independent mechanics in the metro Atlanta area
Hello everyone,
I'm new to the forum and want to thank you guys for all of the valuable info. I posting this message in hopes of finding an independent mechanic to work on my fiancé’s 2018 RDX. The dealer noted the timing belt tensioner, water pump and belt needed replacing secondary to the noise when cold and quoted over $1,400 for the repairs. I read that the Honda dealership is less expensive and will follow up on this thought but wanted to know if there’s an indie person people in the Atlanta area think is just as good or better in the metro Atlanta area. Any info is appreciated.
Thanks again.

how many miles on that thing? if i was you just spend 30 mins shooting messages or calls to a bunch of indies in ur area or use facebook marketplace and search mechanic. use google and or facebook for reviews.
ur gonna call some people and if they say "oh ill have to check on that vehicle " or if they give u a wierd quote stay away
but anyone who seems like they have done these on hondas or acura and sound confident just give em the $$

Thanks for the reply and suggestions. The vehicle has 147,000 miles on it. My fiancé asked a similar question on the Nextdoor app and received recommendations to a few local mechanics that I plan to call tomorrow along with the local Honda dealership. Fingers are crossed that this yields a great mechanic with decent prices.
Thanks again for your time and suggestions.
