2020 RDX Shocks & Struts Question
I have an RDX with the advance AWD technology features. My car is about four and a half years old. I suspect that the shocks and struts need replacing due to a very bouncy ride, squeaking and "groaning" from the suspension and a feeling like everything is a little "loose". I always understood that these parts should last approx. 50,000 miles and mine started failing at about 37,000.
I called my local Acura dealership to get a price on new shocks and struts. I was quoted a price for parts that was over $2000 and with labor the job would have been about $3000.
It has bene a while since I had to put any shocks and struts on a car but in the past, I have paid like $150 per wheel installed. (so maybe $600 total).
My question has anyone replaced the shocks and struts on their RDX (2020 or later) and if so, about what did it cost you and what type/brand of parts did you use?
I asked the Acura parts manager why the cost was so high, and he said, "these are really well-made shocks and struts". I said, "not if they only last 37,000 miles." I cannot imagine what would make these Acura parts so expensive.
Thoughts or guidance? Thank you.

Actually I have found Honda branded shocks/struts to be well made. Since 1978 I have owned 10 Hondas and one Acura (my current ride) and I've only replaced one pair of rear struts, only one of which was leaking and found during a state inspection. All of these cars except the current ride went well past 100K miles.
Make sure you are running proper tire pressures.
