My 2017 Acura RDX, with only 43K miles, recently has the warning sign flashing for transmission light on. The car at the time started vibrating and immediately pulled over. The dealership suggested to replacing multiple things like timing belts and spark plugs etc. Did anyone else experience this with their vehicle?

 

Was this an Acura or Honda dealership? You likely have a serious issue, as indicated by a flashings lights but I can't see the dealer possibilities related to any of the symptoms. What is typically mentioned is to check for low transmission fluid, overheating, internal transmission failure, or issues with the shift interlock. But it sounds like this dealer is doing an hard upsell. The other possibility is the 2017 RDX comes with a 6-year/70000 mile powertrain warranty. Warranty repairs often don't pay the dealer well so they may be padding the bill as best they can.
