Default 2015 RDX Nav System Failure

Today our 2015 Acura Navigation/ Infotainment screen began displaying the message "Application System Error: Unable to start system." The startup splash screen does display when the car is started, before going to the error screen, so we know the screen is still working. The radio still works. But we are unable to use the Nav screen for either GPS navigation or for any of its usual functions, e. g. phone control, phone book display. Any suggestions as to how to troubleshoot this problem?

No responses so far, but I'll add another anecdote. Today my wife plugged her phone into the USB jack (bluetooth on) before starting the car. Everything came up as normal! No idea why it worked, but now it seems to work again, even without the phone plugged in.

How old is the battery? You might consider having it tested but with the old style of battery tester, what was called a load bank. These new hand held devices are useless when testing a battery under load..
