Hi All,
I have an 04 RSX. I have two electrical outlets in the car, both of which stopped working within two weeks of each other about two weeks ago. The dealership asked if I have a Verizon phone (I do) and they told me that it's something about the verizon phone car charger that blows a fuse in the socket outlets. They said they see this a lot and for some reason their incompatible with Acuras (say what??)
But I don't think it's my phone (since I've charged it for a year without any problems). I think it's my portable GPS device, which I just started using 2 months ago, that shorts the fuse. Anywho, the dealership gave me little advice on how to fix this problem. They said "ask the manufacturer for a different charger, try it out." Right, like I want to "try anything out" and see if it breaks again so I can pay to fix it again.
Anyway, is anyone else having this problem? How does one tell which chargers will blow the fuse and which ones won't? Thanks for the help.

I WORK IN SERVICE AT A HONDA DEALERSHIP. WE HAVE THE SAME ISSUES WITH THE POWER POINT. MOST OF OURS ARE FROM VERIZON WIRELESS CHARGERS. AND FOR SOME MODELS OF VEHICLES I KNOW THAT THERE IS AN UPDATED SOCKET THAT HONDA DESIGNED BECAUSE OF THAT PROBLEM. BASICALLY THE SOCKET IS TO SHORT FOR THE CHARGER AND IT SHORTS OUT. ASK YOUR DEALER BOUT THE UPDATE.
