My son was in a minor fender bender recently where the right front corner of the fender was pushed into the hood. The corner of the hood was bent as well. The damage was done by a delivery truck bumper. So all of the damage done to my son's car occurred above the front bumper line.

The result is a hood that won't open. Does anyone have any suggestions on what we could use to pry it open without damaging the rest of the hood/hood latching mechanism or surrounding fenders?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

ok so the hood cable appears to be working but every thing is just bound up????

if the cable broke at the handle sometimes you can get to it by removing the driverside inner fender liner and reach up to the cable housing cut the housing and pull the cable.

if the cable is good or appears to be good then have some one hold it in the release position and another messing with the hood press it down, up, light hits with your palm right on the front etc...

i wish you the best of luck.
