Does your speedometer bounce up and down randomly as well? I was told by a Sears mechanic that the old Legend models have a defective Vehicle Speed Sensor, thus causing the blinkingD4 light and a couple other control panel anomalies. He recommended that I order the part and either replace it myself because it's simple or have someone I know that is a mechanic do it for cheap.

I recently had the same problem. It is the speedo sensor on the transmission. Autozone has it for 150.00.

most of the time its a speed sender.

if you have a light that means there is a code.

go to a shop and have the transmission codes pulled.

because it could be as bad as a 2nd gear pressure switch is bad, and if you dive it it can destroy the transmission.

that D4 is serious business.

9 out of 10 times its the transmission sensor. If you buy the part it is located on the front of the transmission behind a cover.
