This has happened about six times within the last three months, all of a sudden my car starts to idle really rough, actually starts to shake, this is when the car is at a complete stop. Normally the car runs great, no knocking, very smooth. Do the IAC valves get clogged on these cars? They control the idle. I can not pin poiint the problem , no check engine light... nothing. 98% of the time the car runs like a champ.

hey i had the same problem , i suggest fuel injector cleaner , and highly recomend using 89 octane all the time , that helped me. when this happened to me i had my lights and ac on , so i figured it was a fireing problem . i also bought a k&n airfilter and this seemed to help too. worse come to worse id just pull the handbrake and put it in neutral and feather the engine a little . if a slight force on the pedal seems to help you could just raise the idle speed a little . I hope this helps you as much as it helped me.

My engine revs once in a while with my 94, also. I'll try your advice. I only use the highest grade gas, and it didn't seem to matter if I had just had a tune up or major engine work done. This usually occurs after starting the car with mine, though. I forgot to add that it only does it while in park. Not while sitting at lights, etc.

My car has the same problem, I spend more time in parking lot because I can't get my car to run.

hmmm how long has it been sence a tune up?

did the tune up include new oxygen sensors?

next time your in park and it starts acting up, try different things
like turning on your A/C, turning your wheels hard loading the
electrical system(lights,windows,etc...)

If it causes the symtom to stop then yes focus on having the idle air
controll circuit cleaned/replaced. if not them hmmm back to the basics
then.

tune up.

hose checking.

batt cables checked

chassis grounds checked.

but if your stuck in a parking lot with a crank no start situation (
kinda like vapor lock) then have that main buss relay replaced.
