I have a similar issue: When I unlock from the driver's side the car alarm goes off, thus I am forced to be a gentleman for my passengers (and a ghost when I'm alone)and unlock from passenger side everytime.

We have similar
problem, unlike many auto parts, car doors don't usually need to be
replaced regularly. Actually, it may be more practical to have the
entire door replaced
especially if your vehicle has gone through a serious accident. A new
door will be much safer and much stronger to be able to withstand
another accident or collision. And my Acura Legend ball joint is one of my problem too. I don't know how can I repair it 'coz I know that the tie rod and ball joint works together.</span>
