Wheel Bearing
#1
Ok, I'm getting ready to replace my front wheel bearings. The
Hanes manual says to bring it to a professional due to the
difficulty. I have replaced wheel bearings many times before but
not on an Acura. Should I heed their advice and take it to a
professional or will I be good?

Yes you should just be sure that when they install it they dont damage your hub. it takes imense preasure to press the bearing in it should only cost like 200 at the most. DONT HALF *** IT OR YOU'LL REGRET IT LATER.

Well if it makes you feel better some jerk off transmission shop charged me 2000 bones for a used transmission(80000 miles)and a new clutch. which surprise surprise developed the same problem 5 months later. they charged me like 900 for the tranny 400 for the"durlast" clutch. the rest for parts and labor. they told me it would take a week i got my car back 1 month later.

I just had a front wheel bearing replaced for $160CDN. I didn't think that was too bad for a sealed bearing. I try to do alot of my own work but pressing in a wheel bearing I leave to the shops. A good mechanic should be able to remove the wheel hub, replace the bearing and reinstall the hub in about 1 hour.
