integra distributor different types?

Hi all,
Last week my integra distributor went out and the mechanic says a short to ground has magnetized it. Cool but expensive and time consuming. I have a 1994 integra ls non vtec is there a difference between the distributors specifically the tec and the others? The mechanic says I have a tec one and a need a tec one but it's by and far the most expensive if I need that one it's going to have to be junkyard.
