well i have a 1990 integra ls, and i have a transmission problem. when the car is cold the car runs fine trransmission seems to be fine but after the transmission warms up, it starts slipping i guess, not working, not gripping anymore. i shut off the car and turn it back on it works again for a little bit. i check the solinoids and it seems to be working i heard them clicking when i tested it. the fluid is a little to high in the tranny but i would think it should still work, and its high because of previuos owner. the transmission lines going to the radiator, are a little wet, i dont see a leak but they are wet, i think its tranny fluid. whats else could i tell u, the front and rear mounts for the engine are bad, not totally bad but the rubber is not connected no more. thats pretty much what i have noticed, can anyone help me, maybe u have had a similar problem, thanks.

have you ever owned Honda cars from then '90's or earlier before? if not then thats why you have a concern. If youve owned them before then you know you have nothing to worry about because their auto transmissions are just really un-refined and jerky. they feel like they slip and they jerk in and out of gear when you switch them. They also "jump" into then next gear really abruptly. Thats just the way they were made. Honda got lots and lots of complaints about their transmissions crappy engineering during those days, about how theyre not smooth, and they dont act into gears gradually. so what im trying to say is that older honda transmissions just act like that. its normal for them to do that they were just built that way. if you noticed, they also hold lower gears extremely long, this made people wonder how Hondas are so fuel efficient when they stay in lower gears so long. the good thing about them though is that since they hold lower gears really long, if you live on a Heights like i do (and i live ALL the way at the top) then you benefit from "engine braking" since they hold gears long your car will not just coast down the grade, this is good for me because it saves my brakes. but yeah, dont worry about it, its normal for hondas to do that, its like one of the few junk things about Hondas. The other junk things is their terrible road noise and the fact that everyone fricken steals them.

yea i have a 95 and my sh*t does the same thing i actually work at ACURA and yes they do go through a whole lot of trans. i am already having the replace my tourque converter!!! but yea that is normal for a ACURA/HONDA the best thing you can do is get a specialist to look at it or just keep driving it till it locks up on you!!!

My 2000 integ. does the same thing, too. It's my first Honda / Acura and I thought that maybe there was something seriously wrong with it. Also kind of remember hearing somewhere that Honda had some major problems with thier auto transmissions - like a recall for a few model years. So far no leaks or anything but it still makes me wonder what's up. The car only has 47,000 miles on it.
