so the other day im getting of the freeway and as i put my car into gear i take off then after a few sec i get a big grinding noise! so none of the gears work but if i only use the clutch i will move forward for about a foot and then the grinding comes back in! neutralis fine and if i put the car i gear i can push it forward! i have got two different answers from people i know that work on cars a lot but both of them dont really work on tuners so any ideas would be great thnx!

i need a little bit more info here

but it sounds like the tranz is junk

1 does it make grinding in reverse under power?

2 once its rolling and the noise comes in and you step on the clutch does it keep making noise till you stop moving?

Possabilities in my opinion

if a clutch blew up it should make massive noise when released or moved reguardless of vehicle speed/gear

if a axle shaft broke that noise wouldnt go away in neutral

it sounds to me like its time to pull the tranny and hope to find a
1000piece clutch in there but expect to find a shattered counter shaft.

Not good news either way.

sounds a little like your cvhalf shafts might have popped out of the tranny a little. i ran into this problemm a few years ago when i installed new ones into my 91 because i didnt make sure they were in all the way. simple fix though. just make sure that the shaft teeht are not damage so that you can still use them other wise you will need to get new shafts.
