WTF is with my brake lights?!?!?!?!?!?!!?

the word assume is spelled *** u me

the brake switch should be a easy check...unplug it and short the wires together....walk to the back and see if there on...if yes then test is done replace or adjust the switch...if no well...here we are...while we are here is there power on the shorted wire pair?...if yes then time to look at the colunm if no then time to check the fuse and wiring from the fuse box to the brake switch...

Question: do you get an indication of brake light failure on the dash instrument panel?


My 95 Legend has sensing circuits to detect the failure of any of the four brake light lamps. It is driven by relays in series with each lamp circuit.


Does not your TL have the same feature?

The brake light will occasionally come one, but otherwise, it doesn't. I am thinking that it is the brake switch though. someone from another forum told me that there is another brake switch in the steering column. I am thinking that is the actual culprit.

The lights that light up with the keyless entry are your parking lights and not your brake lights, Thay just hapen to be in the same car light bulbs but differant filament. Replace both bulbs and let me know
