Transmission problems ’90 teg

after owning my car for about two weeks it is not wanting to shift out of second when the car is not all the way up to running temp..Any ideas?

what is your transmission?

first step is check the trans fluid. make sure it is ok.

the tranny fluid is fine that is the first thing i checked but as for the tranny i don't know what one it is.
