<H1 class=subject>So I have a check engine light on and a girl at work was nice enough to bring in a computer that tells you what codes show up.</H1>
<H1 class=subject>The codes that are coming up are:
P0134 O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

P0139 O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 2)

P1166 Primary Heated Oxygen Sensor (#1) heater circuit

P1167 Primary Heated Oxygen Sensor (#1) heater circuit, or bank 1 fuel trim too rich during deceleration

I realize I have to check my O2 sensor somehow (it's on the manifold?)</H1>

You cant really check to see if their bad, all you can really check is the resistenance and so fourth. Those codes i had my own muffler shop and replaced dozens of them, mean that they are bad. The O2 senors that you have are duel sensors. that means that they measure the heat of the exhaust the fuel. So, to awnser your question they are bad and need to be replaced. So, for the fuel its running to rich for the sensor you might want to tone it down alittle bit on the lean side. hope this helps.

 

Curious, How is your gas milage?

 

I fill my tank to full and i can about 305 - 320 miles before i fill up again. I believe the last time that i calculated it i was getting abot 30 miles on highway and about 25 city. But, your O2 sensors make a big differance.

 

the sender can be checked if you use a analog ohm meter that will let you see the voltage output. it should bounce between .01 volts and .99 volts about 3-5 times a second.

lab scopes can map this out.

P.S. oxygen sensors should be replaced every 90-100k miles.

most people neglect them till WWWAAAaaayy past that.

Well...I signed up to figure out why my check engine light came on. i have a 96' Integra with 212,000 miles and the light just came on for the first time this week. I guess mine was doing okay...lol.

 

Only problem is ...you didn't notice that this post is over 2 years old already...Welcome to the forums...

 

Well you can't check the sensor whether they are bad or good all what you need to do hear is just go and get it replaced, i think it should be fine then .

 

Replace and get on with it..If it's bad and throwing codes it's not good for your cars performance...
