You said it sounds like the sound is coming from inside the car?

Then later you gave me the impression that you were hearing it from outside the car...

If so, have you just had some brake work done?

could it be some one has bent your brake dust shield? It could be rubbing up against the rotor as the rotor spins it would make like a whirring or grinding noise. It kinda sounds like that is what you are describing. check that out.

It's fixed. An Acura mechanic shop said it was the ALS pump of the ABS. They said there was a leak in the ABS that caused the ALS pump to cut on--that was the sound. They said a fix would run around $2800, but just disconnect the ABS and the pump would stop. The car will pass Texas safety inspection without an ABS. They disconnected the ABS and did not charge me a cent. I'm happy.

I have to agree with Greenbling. It might be the brake dust shield has been bent. Or it can be because of your door lock actuator. Try to listen to it carefully for you to know where the noise is coming from.

Well i think it is your lifters. the only way to fix this is to replace the valves. there are way to quit it down such as thicker oil.
