I purchased a 92 legend with some motor trouble. It has spark, but just pops occasionally when starting. I am concerned about valve damage, if the timing is off. Is there any valve tolerance if the timing has jumped? I do not hear any metalic nor slapping sounds when it turns over.

Also, there is a disconnected wiring harness part the has two leads. They appear to have been attached to some type of block or manifold sensors? They have heat evidence on them, but I can't locate the area they were disconnected from. The wiring starts near the top of the motor near the firewall and the leads are just long enough to reach medium to low on the driver's side of the motor. Any help appreciated on these issues. Thanks.
